Our Team

Devon Albeit, Executive Director

I create and connect.

Whether on or off the clock, visually or verbally, Devon does this naturally and passionately.

  • Devon has many interests and loves learning and trying new things. She is a mother of three, teacher, photographer, yogi, runner, Columbus-native, dancing queen, and nature-lover. With a MEd and experience as an entrepreneur, she knows the value of staying curious, maintaining an open-mind, listening to different perspectives, and actively engaging in personal growth to better serve others.

Devon is passionate about education and building a more engaged and equitable world for our youth. She loves brainstorming, noticing and responding to needs, observing and learning from others, asking lots of questions, sharing knowledge, and collaborating to do better work, all while bringing in as much fun as possible.

Devon believes in the power of taking action from inner knowing and understanding of self, and she loves that Inspireducation guides young people to make decisions from that place first.

ALECEA NICHOLS, College and career counselor

I organize and empower.

Alecea is the queen of execution, bringing ideas to life with attention to detail and supportive care.

  • Growing up, Alecea initially aspired to be a teacher, but as time passed, her focus shifted from teaching a specific subject to imparting life lessons. Throughout high school and college, Alecea actively sought mentorship roles, drawing from her own experiences to assist others. This desire to guide and support led her to a Psychology major in college, fueled by her passion for understanding people and their unique life stories.

Constantly seeking diverse knowledge, whether cultural, media-related, or obscure facts, Alecea firmly believes in the power of knowledge and aims to share this passion to foster others' love for learning. As a first-generation college student, she empathizes with the challenges of navigating post-high school options. Working as a College and Career Counselor allows her to seamlessly blend her love for mentoring with helping students build confidence and navigate the complexities of postsecondary planning.

Most importantly, Alecea finds fulfillment in making a tangible difference in students' lives, saving them time, money, and guiding them toward their best postsecondary path from the start.

LYDIA CRANNELL, college and career counselor

I educate and advocate.

In every situation, Lydia offers expertise and encouragement (plus a healthy dose of humor).

  • Lydia is constantly trying to be the β€œcool teacher” and thankfully, her students play along. She is a plant mom, cellist, soap-maker, Diet Coke enthusiast, and above all else, an avid supporter of education equality.

After receiving her Bachelor’s in Literature and Music, Lydia taught English in South Korea for three years before returning to the U.S. to pursue a career in college/career counseling. Lydia loves to travel, attend concerts, and show off her powerpoint-making skills.

I reflect and reassure.

Dylan collaborates calmly and confidently, and his feedback is always insightful (so take note!).
